U.S Sells F-15 Fighter Jets to Saudi Arabia

F-15 fighter jets will be sold to Saudi Arabia by the Obama Administration. However, Saudi Arabia will not be equipped with long range weapons, or other weapons that are opposed by Israel, diplomats, and officials.

There is a 30 billion dollar and 10 year arms package that would be one of the biggest of its kind. Despite the agreement as of now,there is still negotiation and stress in reaching the final agreement. The Israeli government is concerned that the United States is making a military advantage by supplying them with advanced military aircraft.

Congress has the power to block any weapon sales Israels military. This allows the United States to have a military advantage over the region around Israel.

The Obama Administration has weapon sales to Gulf states to check Iranian power.The United States has not only sold arms to Saudi Arabia, but also to the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Palestine and Gulf. States

Earlier this year, Saudi armed forces sustained heavy losses during extended skirmishes with Yemeni rebels on the southern border, the kind of flare-up a new crop of fighter jets would seemingly be ideal to fight.

Early this year, the Saudi Arabian army suffered a heavy loss of military soldiers and weapons due to battles with Yemen. The addition of jets to the Saudi army would strengthen the toughness to withstand skirmishes to neighboring countries.
