We had a lot of news about EA’s Battlefield 3 in the recent weeks but quite a few that put a spotlight on the upcoming blockbuster shooter title, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 who is slightly late in the release date calendar compared to Battlefield 3 which will be released 2 weeks earlier.
Despite that, MW3 still stays firm on most of the people’s mind online. We have a statistics from Google Trends that shows the report of both keyword searches in the popular search engine.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 game has also been at the top of the chart list of Shacknews’s most anticipated video games which also featured Deus Ex: Human Revolution at no. 2 spot while Battlefield 3 grab the fourth.
While i agreed that the list does not play a major part of what the gaming community desires, it does seems to look very ‘correct’ if we take the equation on the market right now.
Surprisingly, the Japanese audience does not seem to care about both MW3 and Battlefield 3 release as last month issue of “Famitsu’s Most Wanted” revealed that Tales of Xillia on PS3 throned in a list dominated by RPG games with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception takes the 30th spot.
Battlefield 3 is to hit the shelves on October 25 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) on November 8, both set to release on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 console.

Wow really lol if any of the console babies actually looked at what Battlefield 3 is and can do opposed to mw3 you would not even be interested in mw3. Mw3 is nothing but mw2 with new maps, theres no graphic changes or updates not even an updated game engine just the SOS they been putting out for years and your stupid enough to buy it. And thats fine but When you add up the fact that Battlefield 3 contains a new engine (frostbite 2) and actually uses the physx to its extreme, and then toss in the fact you can play infrantry or drive a tank or fly a plane well then MW3 is still the SOS as it ever was. Battlefield 1942 was the best game ever made and with the addition of the desert combat mod it was the most fun game to play or LAN that you could get. I forsee Battlefield 3 again becoming the formost LAN’ed game of its’ kind. I also played CoD for years right up to the point where infinity ward stuck a knife in PC gamers back with MW2. After that and causing all game companies to raise the price of games for greeds sake, well that was my end with the CoD franchise and I will never go back. I don’t care that infinity ward isn’t doing MW3 Activision can suck it, by allowing IF to do what they did and I think some of you PC gamers have forgotten that fact. Activision will never see one penny of my money for any game they release no matter how good it is, they screwed PC gamers over and it will never be forgotten. MW3 will be nothing but a console game pos and activision does nothing but make a console game and port it to PC and its pure crap. Dice on the otherhand made BF3 for PC first and then dumb it down for the loser console players that dare not try on PC with no aim assist. Just sad tho that all this is because of one reckless company. Personally I care less whether you buy BF3 OR MW3 but for me activision can drop off the face of the planet and take the CoD franchise with it.

Wow, you guys are really kickin your asses with this COD vs BF collision course. I just wanna say that I loved call of duty ever since I played the first one. It was so realistic. But after so many years of launching the say game mechanic every single year over and over again I guess people are starting to FED UP with COD, and if you look at the brand new battlefield 3 you simply cant deny the fact that it is superior at least in terms of graphics and realism, and I have never played battlefield and I can tell that. I guess battlefield is now what the original call of duty was years ago, we’ll see what happens.

i have the bf3 beta it lacks fun it has good graffics and gameplay and i dont no how to put this but the only reason i like it is beacuse it moves like real life.
all i can say is hopefully the real game isn’t like this.

It’s sad that you all are comparing games, and to call someone filthy words such as those because they chose one game over the other is childish. Sadly, that is the epitome of today’s society. I, on one hand, actually like battlefield over the MW series, mainly because of the “realism” and large scale combat. MW, to me, feels more of a “arcade” game, where you can kill anyone with any weapon regardless of the effects of the world around you i.e physics. Shotguns in MW are slightly OP, killing people in a single hit from across the map. Battlefield, on the other hand, is no where near as fast paced as MW, due to the fact Battlefield usually has HUGE maps that you have to scale to even get to the battle and possibly be killed as soon as you arrive, only to scale back to the battle again. If you aren’t good, then you could find the game boring because of this.
Besides, EA straight said that they are not trying to “beat” MW in sales. That this is a big strike into the gaming community to try and “steal” some of their customers. Once people play battlefield, they may find that they like both games, and buy both of the future titles, some may say BF is much better than MW and only buy future MW titles. Arguing over two different business is stupid, just play what you like, and with some respect.
