Business Insider published a news report in August last year claiming that there are 10 Youtube celebrities that are making over $100,000 a year.
Well, that might had to change, because an official statement coming from Youtube’s official has said that there are “hundreds of people are making six-figure incomes on the site”.
“There are more than 20,000 people in the YouTube Partner Program, and numerous other companies and organizations use YouTube to draw attention to their causes and promote their businesses.” said Tom Pickett, Director of Content Operations and Online Creators of YouTube in his blog post titled “Celebrating the creativity of YouTube’s Partners”.
In the post, Youtube has prepared a PDF report containing 20 stories of their partners in revolutionizing how the audience watch videos in the internet today which eventually change a lot of these people lives.
“We pay out millions of dollars a year to Partners” said Youtube in the report.
Prominent Youtube celebrities such as RayWilliamJohnson, nigahiga, smosh, and MysteryGuitarMan have not disclosed their earnings through the program due to the terms they agreed with Youtube.

The figures are certainly wrong, Im in the top 500 Youtubers (worldwide) and I earned $68,000 in the last 12 months, so if I earned that I can promise you that even the top 200 must be on at least $100,000 a year.
