The last chapter to the Harry Potter franchise has now grossed $1.01 billion while in other news, Transformers: Dark of the Moon has gain a total of $983 million in box office.
The film published by Warner Bros. has now joins the elite billion dollar club, while for Paramount’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon should capable of joining the ranks in the next few days.
Before the summer came, only seven movies that had grossed over $1 billion at the domestic box office.
The list should now comes in total of nine, between Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows 2, the first film in the J.K. Rowling franchise to mark the milestone. Latest Transformers film is expected to make it ten for the total counts.
Through the weekend, the magical film has grossed $1.01 billion, which includes a domestic total of $318.5 million and international collecting of $690 million. That has made the film tied with a record for the fastest jump to $1 billion collection, finishing the job in only over two weeks, or to be exact, 17 days.
Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows 2 is also the top grossing film in Warner Bros. history worldwide as a film publisher.
