It’s been a while, or to be exact, 9 months ago since the release of Blizzard’s last well-received World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm, but in the busy world of MMOs, any sane developer would be charting their darts off the plane. In this case, Blizard has setting up a mysterious showdown of what’s ahead for WoW after a filing of a new trademark.
A report from MMO Champion has caught a trademark filed by Blizzard for something called “Mists of Pandaria.” For your concern, this trademark is filed under codes (009 and 041) that specifically refer to “computer game software” and “on-line computer games,” so there is one hundred percent possibility that it is an expansion, rather than, i don’t know, a book, novel maybe?
Pandaria is associated to the homeland of the Pandaren, a World Of Warcraft universe race of panda breed humanoids. The land of Pandaria have never been explored in WoW, so it should be an exciting place to be played with as fans can reveal the game’s lore. It’s also a good chance to expand WoW’s race selection with a group that a majority of players have asked for since the game’s launch in 2004, although we are still not sure whether Pandaren would fall on the Horde or Alliance side.
Blizzard has been contacted to comment about the trademark filing, but a representative from the company refused to do so, stating that they are “not ready to reveal any details at this time.” If there is any time we could bet on the announcement details would be this year’s Blizzcon, which will starts on October 21 and 22. The Cataclysm expansion was launched at Blizzcon 2009 and the case is similar with this one as they had a trademark filed a few months earlier.
We’re sure to have more news about Mists of Pandaria when Blizzcon kicks off in October. Now, tell me, who else is excited at the possibility of a panda-focused World of Warcraft expansion for the time being?

If they really did file a trademark patent, it’s most likely not a prank.
If it is true i hope its better than it sounds….

My Opinion is that Pandaren shouldn’t be a playable race, just be they have never really sided with anyone(correct me if I’m wrong), but if it was playable I see them as an Alliance character. I want new races but I’m not too sure what they could really do unless they added another faction. It pissed me off when they made Goblin playable because of their Neutrality, and when Worgens made Alliance. Worgens just… look horde, but its all about the Lore.

I personally believe that the Pandaren are a terrible thing to have come out with. Yes technically the Goblins were neutral, that SECT of goblin was neutral. But within the Lore, it does actually state that the others are on a side. Worgen are not a Horde race because the humans were turned into Worgen. (Yes Undead’s are technically Human as well, but are an abomination, and it was Horde’s bane to even allow them on their side seeing as how they want to destroy everyone) There are two reason Worgen are not Horde.. 1) They were humans, and not dead.. They were once part of the Alliance in a sense before they walled themselves off believing that they were better. and 2) Because the Horde attacked them to get their land so that they could build a port there for trade… So no it wouldn’t make sense and they don’t seem like a Horde race… Goblins are just disgusting and I’ve seen enough ghetto’s, I don’t want to see one in game too.. They are the cockroaches of WoW
Pandaren would be very interesting in a way, but I haven’t seen anything about them in Lore to be honest… BUT, we are also running out of things that they can give us. so to keep it alive and avoid a World of Warcraft 2 (Hello again Everquest!) They have to bring out new ideas, and will just smack a book at us later :3 Let’s hope for the best!

Ah! But Pandaren are in a small part of the lore! Look a bit harder. They’d be really fun to play! But they would also have to be a Neutral faction that both sides can play, but Blizzard already stated that they don’t want to have any confusion, they want the players to know which side is which! So maybe they’ll make the Horde or Alliance once fluffier, fatter, taller, darker colored.. You never know!
OMG! I agree that Goblins are disgusting
Garrosh shouldn’t of ever let them into his city. He’s such a crap Warchief!

The Pandaren or a Pandaren did align with thrall in WC3 in the side game he was a brewmaster and quite powerful so they are in the lore.
Hopefully they will bring in another race, one for each faction or even make the Pandaren’s a second hero class as the death knights are

Pandaren could come out, but not as a main expansion i think. Its simply doesnt have enough weight and lore to be a big one.
Blizzard gonna need something with a punch. And i think they should look back a bit to get it.
2 expansion idea would be great:
- Return of the Legion
Well, demons are persistent, we know that and we still dont know much about the Twisting Nether. Sargeras is still out there… Also, the Burning Crusade staff is old by now, me personally would love to fight demons again.
- Reign of Chaos
Time is quite fluid in WoW. So i think it would be tremendous fun and lore and endless possibilities if heroes could go back in time, into the settings of Warcraft3. Fighting for survival in Azeroth against the legion, trying to keep time flowing as it should.
Blizzard needs a BIG punch. I think for example, that Deathwing was a bit of a low punch… Kinda magicly appeared from the hat.
