“The series “Metal Gear” has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. There may be other more impressive record, but if we take into account the platforms and the number of titles in the series, it’s awesome!” he said
With the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, 3DS and Vita titles and the much anticiapted Metal Gear: Rising all set to be released, the Metal Gear Solid series will no doubt hit a new sales achievement in the near future.
Metal Gear is a series of stealth video games masterminded by Hideo Kojima and developed and published by Konami. The player takes control of a special forces operative (usually protagonist Solid Snake) who repeatedly faces off against the eponymous superweapon “Metal Gear”, a bipedal walking tank with the ability to launch nuclear weapons. The series is known for pioneering the stealth game genre, and for its cinematic cut scenes, intricate storylines, offbeat humor, and exploration of political and philosophical themes.
