One nice advantage about being an Xbox 360 owner is to boast the ability to install games to the HDD optionally for faster loading times, and a smoother, quieter gaming experience. This fall, RAGE will set to offer that option, but be sure to dust up some time before installing the game as it comes in at a quite of a size, 22GB. John Carmack spoke about the news at this year’s Quake-Con which took place in the past weekend.
The fact that the game will take up between 21 – 22 GB of your HDD space, its safe to also presume that the upcoming game will ship on multiple DVDs. Carmack suggest the install to improve load times for the game and had this to say at the event.
“On the 360 we don’t have a partial install option; it’s all or nothing, which is kind of unfortunate,” Carmack said. “It means you have to install 21/22GB of stuff which takes a long time, but if you’ve got it and you play it on the 360 that’s the way to go.”
Rage is going to hit gaming store shelves on October 4th release for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
