For many Android enthusiasts, having total control is part of the platform’s attraction which focus mainly on openness. But Google is imposing some annoying new restrictions for those who want to be rooted superusers on their own phones.
Google is blocking access to its new Android Market film rental service for those using rooted Android devices. If you try to access a movie from the Market using a rooted device, you’ll receive a “failure to fetch license” error message on your phone. But don’t worry, seems there is a solution to alter that.
Thanks to one of the user from SDX-Developers (Not a typo), we introduce this hacked application that will get you access to streaming content as if you weren’t rooted, while still leaving you to enjoy all the wonders that root access provides. What an excellent Friday treat!
Note from the developer:
This bypass doesn’t affect the actually DRM licensing, it will still generate a proper license key, you will still be limited to the normal viewing times, you will still have to pay to rent movies, etc. Don’t ask, because it’s not happening. It just bypasses/disabled the root check.
Well, just wait and see how Google will counter this one.
