Fans might get to see Counter Strike: Global Offensive earlier than they would expected as a source who had contact with Valve slipped up the news yesterday.
“#csgo (Counter Strike: Global Offensive) beta is gonna start in October… that’s what they said !”
“…no, to be clear…the quote is….”CS2 (Counter Strike 2.0?) will be out before HL3 (Half Life 3) is” he said in his tweets.
Whether or not the reports are true still remains to be seen as CS2 may not refer to CS: GO, but instead, a real successor to the previous Counter Strike which includes 1.6, and Source.
Also, surprisingly, there is a mentioned of Half Life 3 in his statement which could serve an indication that Valve will indeed launch a new sequel to his highly successful Half Life franchise.
Last week, there is a protest breaks out at just outside of Valve’s headquarters who demand for the release of Half Life although it what appears to be two identified men who set up camp outside of Valve’s offices with cardboard signs reading “Canada 4 The Release Of Half Life 3″ and “Half-Life 3…Is It Left 4 Dead?”
Counter Strike: Global Offensive is being developed by Valve in cooperation with Seattle-based Hidden Path Entertainment. The title is targeted for release in early 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac platforms. The title will be playable at this year’s PAX Prime and Eurogamer Expo 2011.
