Rejoice the good people of Mario and Metroid long time fans. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins and Metroid 2: Return Of Samus will be launched through the 3DS eShop before the end of 2011.
Super Mario Land was a 3DS eShop launch game and it will be added in the download store by the sequel during the Q4 of 2011.
Super Mario Land 2 is well known for being the first game to feature Wario. In a chance to take Mario’s castle for himself, Wario put an evil spell on Mario Land while the plumber was away battling, and defeating Tatanga in Sarasaland.
The inhabitants are now brainwashed into thinking that Wario is their master and Mario is their enemy. To stop Wario, Mario must find the 6 Golden Coins throughout Mario Land to reclaim his castle.
Those who haven’t tried the game will be happy to learn that this was one of the biggest games on the Game Boy at the time of its release in 1993 and is eight times larger than its previous series.
As for Metroid 2: The Return of Samus, it was the only Metroid game released for Game Boy. Originally released back in 1992, it saw Samus being sent on a mission to exterminate the Metroid creatures from their home planet SR388 before the Space Pirates can grab and use them.
Metroid just celebrated its 25th anniversary.
