iPad 3 to give PS Vita some competition in early 2012

ipad gaming 300x297 iPad 3 to give PS Vita some competition in early 2012According to a report from WSJ, Apple set to unveiled iPad 3 early next year, probably just in time for the release of PlayStation Vita which is also having the same release frame.

The report, citing unnamed sources familiar with Apple’s plans, said Apple has ordered key components such as display panels and chipsets and its working on trial production of the new model.

If that is correct, we would have expected the next iPad to be powered with A6 processor and it is no brainer if we said that quad-core is on the specs list, which, PS Vita already have.

Now, if we compare both systems in and out, its obvious that iPad 3 will stand out due to a much better resolution (reportedly 2048 x 1536) but with a lack of controller, dedicated video games studio support and much higher price point than PS Vita, we might not see it as a better choice for gamers.

After all, it does not intended to be a gaming platform although Apple may want to promote that kind of feature after several success they have seen due to games in iPad.

So the IPad is better because of its resolution? That makes no sense at all!

For that exact same reason the iPad 3 games will have worse 3D performance than the iPad 2

Kinda like the iPhone 3Gs scores higher on GPU benchmarks than the iPhone 4 , even though the iPhone 4 has a faster memory bus and high core speed

Don’t even bother, the moron who wrote the article has no clue of what he spitting

No competition at all, Moronic writer
Let me point out some key flaws on your “logic” if you can call it that

    >iOS is full of shovelware, games are cheap and lack any depth they don’t have big budgets they are juts 5 minutes casual fun that wear down pretty fast

    > To this day no dev has yet properly exploited the iPhone 3GS SGX 535 GPU/Cortex A8 CPU combo, with only Forgotten Memories (on development) seems to be doing

    >Zero games are utilizing the A5 potential

“its obvious that iPad 3 will stand out due to a much better resolution (reportedly 2048 x 1536)”

For that exact same reason Games will be very primitive and simplistic, 3D performance will be crippled by that ubber high resolution. At most the iPad 3 will get iPad 2 graphics potential (IF THAT) and with iOS devs taking 3 years + to start supporting new GPUs/CPUs (i.e games that take advantage of the iPhone 3Gs)

    > Vita enjoys of low level API which allow devs to get the most out of every mm of gaming silicone. Even at exact same specs Vita is still a generation ahead, things only get worse with Vita MUCH bigger development budgets

    tl;dr
iPad is a great multimedia all in one device that just so happens to be good a playing casual games for 10 mins quick fun. Its games lack the depth of detail that a any Game boy advanced game has

Different market sectors for crying out lod would people stop comparing both
    FUCK

Yes I can see how an ipad3 costing at least twice as much will be competition. If the vita is capable of doing everything an ipad3 can do but with dual analogue sticks and easier portability surely this should read vita competition for ipad at half the price?
