Before taking the next step, some of us insists into anything. More or less, expectations and speculations has been scattered everywhere towards Sony’s PlayStation pool of the next generation console.
Yes, we heard so many things, but one guy at Sony has made it clear. They have no plans for PlayStation 4 (PS4).
Speaking with Eurogamer, Shuhei Yoshida who is an acting President of SCE Worldwide Studios claims that the technology in the PS3 is not yet obselete. At least for quite some time.
“Looking at the platform cycle, when the platform becomes something game developers are not able to improve their creations with, that’s the time we have to really seriously consider shifting to the next generation,” Yoshida told the website. “As far as we are concerned, we have no desire now to do that [release a new home console],”
“Gamers always need something new and more exciting. If they’re seeing just similar types of games coming year after year, they will quickly lose their interest,” claimed Yoshida. “Looking like that, when you see games coming out on PS3, both the traditional type of games as well as new kind of games using PS Move, there is a lot more we can do from the game development standpoint.”
“So as long as we and our developers can create new experiences that are more exciting to consumers, I see no need to transition into newer generation.”

There is every reason to improve your console and invest in creating a newer console. Soley based on graphics of course. Graphics are constantly being updated in the computer world and Sony and Microsoft have yet to acomplish true Hi-Def Gaming. Sure 1080p is good, But most games dont take advantage of this and Drakes fortune is a game that speaks highly of what gamers expect with a hi def gaming console.
I Hope that what we have now is not the best out there and wont be what we have to settle for. Gamers are still hoping and wishing that we can one day play a video game where the physics and graphics including lighting and effects trully blow you away. A blu ray movie compared to a video game is extremely diffrent in comparison.
Video games weather hi def or not tend to be choppy and the frame rate on the ps3 at best is 30fps, Although the human brain can only process 24fps it makes sense to improve the console and develop games at 60fps.
I believe the video game industry is settling for whats selling, But honestly its best to get to investing in newer video and shading technology now so 5 years from now with a ps4 the graphics will be mind blowing, Im sure at one point in life people thought 2d gaming was it and all that could be done. If you dont try and expand your mind and settle for what we have now there will be nothing new, no new inventions and same old same old.
So ps4 where are you?

All Sony needs to do is improve the graphics on the Ps3; a good move could be to introduce an updated PS 3 with faster CPU and improved GPU that could manage 1080p. As long as the original PS3 could run the game at a lower resolution they’d have no problems.

He obviously hasnt played DC universe online it’s a crash fest because of the limited RAM….I would love to see more MMOs on PS3 but after DC no one will make one because the PS3 is infact obsolete because of the lack of RAM.

Here is a idea, go the N64 route. Release a USB RAM stick for the PS3 to add more Video RAM for more advanced games. I am sure with a proper firmware update it would be possible. I’d buy it in a second.
