Kevin Butler a fictional character, is one of the amazing things to happen to the console made by Sony, the PlayStation 3, so it’s no wonder that if there’s a news about his departure, that’s an ironic.
During a period when a bunch of people were wondering what the edges a PS3 had over a Microsoft’sXbox 360, Sony splashed out with the “It Only Does Everything campaign.” At the same time, it snapped an actor to play the role of vice-president of darn near anything PS3 related.
Kevin Butler played in a number of comedic and very approachable ads that no doubt hyphen up sales of PS3 hardware and software.
Today, everyone’s favorite fictional VP is moving on, or is he?
This morning, Kevin Butler announced his departure from his vice president role at PlayStation in favor of a far less exciting job.
“A man can only be made VP so many times, KB’s off to be PRESIDENT of my uncle’s new upstart company,” Butler tweeted. “Thanks for all the well-wishes. Yes, as president of a flooring company I’ll be hiring but please no job apps yet. Commercials? We’ll see…”
When asked by respectable gaming site what this really meant for the popular Kevin Butler character, SCEA responded,”Stay tuned.” “We’ll have more info on KB’s new upstart career shortly. In the meantime, keep following his tweets.”
There you go, something is obviously going on with Sony and Kevin Butler. This could be the start of a new era of commercials. What better way to get the media hype going than to sneak peek it on one of the most used social networking sites? My wish is just more KB.
