Xbox 360 react to PS3 price drop with 5 free AAA titles

Xbox 360 Elite Xbox Slim with Box 300x268 Xbox 360 react to PS3 price drop with 5 free AAA titlesA fairly tempting yet bargain Xbox 360 bundle has been confirmed for all major retailers and i seems that only Canadians will be enjoying this.

Sony’s PS3 gets a pretty good $50 cut last week during Gamescom in Germany and has since saw a great result in sales worldwide for the home gaming console.

Microsoft has been very silent and haven’t made any direct response to the discounted PS3 but they may now have a twist counter besides a price slash.

It has been revealed that Microsoft will be offering a 250 GB Xbox 360 bundle that priced at $299. The best part is that the bundle will come with a game card to download 5 free games off Xbox Live. Not just your average XBLA games but the following:

  • Gears of War 2
  • Alan Wake
  • Fable 3
  • Halo Wars
  • Halo 3

The one thing to be aware is that the full download will require an estimate of 30 GB of free storage space so that shouldn’t be too big of a problem with the 250 GB hard drive you’re getting from the Xbox 360 console deal.

To learn more about the great Xbox 360, i suggest to head over Canadian Best Buy website.

LOL, is that the best Xbox has to offer? Gears2 is really the only vaguely AAA title there, the rest is overhyped shite.

I have to agree with Mike…the rest of the other games are balls. Only Gears 2 is worth mentioning…Halo 3 was an utter disappointment. I lost interest in the Halo series after Halo 2…It’s a good thing I sold all of my Xbox and 360 games….life is so much more enjoyable now. :-D

Attention citizens of the Earth: get rid of anything Xbox related…you’ll live a happier life. :-)

    Superb deal… every game a WINNER !

Alan Wake is my standout for 2010, no other game like it. Superb graphics, excellent story telling and surprisingly refreshing gameplay (the DLC is superb btw).
Halo3, getting old, but still a great experience, superbly polished throughout.
Gears2 is solid, great graphics, has some real high moments in single player, Horde mode is a standout though.
Fable 3, just finished this one, great RPG. It has some of the best voice acting in any game I’ve played. Seriously funny dialogue in some places. Graphics are absolutely enchanting as well.
Halo Wars (probably the weakest of the bunch)… it’s easily the best RTS on any console FULL STOP.

If you only have a ps3 this is a fantastic way of jumping into the world of Xbox360.
Come on ps3 owners… Jump In.

When Pigs fly :) If you have a PS3 there really is no reason to get an xbox360. Not to mention they are way over priced for what you get.

Even if all the games are rubbish, they are actually doing a good strategic move with putting on terrible games that sell. Of course, I have played a few of these, despite not owning their subpar console, I can’t say any of those games should interest anyone with a PS3.

PS3 has all the added stuff you need hardware wise, add on the amazing exclusives they seem to be pumping out and refreshing, i’m set as it is. Because the numbers are more or less comparable (failed consoles don’t count) the developers tend to start on the PS3 due to its harder to develop system. (Yes, it is harder, so they tend to start on PS3 or PC, and port it to Xbox)

Toss in a free 200 dollar card to get a blu ray player and a sixty dollar card for a year of online play and hmmmm thats 260 dollars just to get parity in features that a PS3 has out of the box.

So thats 300 plus 260 for 560 dollars for the Microsoft “deal”???

    Thanks but no………just no.

I know im late and all but that was a good deal as a owner of all 3 gaming consoles (xbox360/Wii/ps3) i can honestly say xbox is better and if you refuse to pay for xbox live which is about a quarter a day either because yoir too poor or jus’t don’t want to pay it ask your neighborhood bum or homeless guy for the money .. There are pros and cons for xbox 360 and ps3 . The biggest and the option to party u with friends ( group voice chat). Ps3 has free online play which is good for little kids. I actually like xbox graphics better lol. Overall i didnt give up on ps3 because its perfect forbguest who want to watch something on netflix :) i kept the xbox because online gameplay rocks and its a nicer system overall :)
