Any of you are still wondering about the ability stats of your favorite players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi? Well, we got the details right here for you.
Cristiano Ronaldo known for his pace, strength, trickeries and excellent shooting skills. Last year, he breaks Pichichi record to become highest goalscorer in a single La Liga season surpassing previously held by Telmo Zarra.
Despite that, he only earned 92 points in FIFA 12 ability stats, only a point over David Villa who scored 23 overall goals for last season, while Ronaldo slotted in 53 goals.
For our another superstar, Lionel Andrés “Leo” Messi has been playing extraordinarily for Barcelona in 2010–11 season where he led the team to European Champions League glory finishing off 53 goals and assisting 24 times.
With that, EA Sports awarded the 24-year old 95 points in FIFA 12, probably the highest we can get for most of the players in the upcoming soccer game.

I would say messi is better but giving him 95 at the start is a bad idea…. he shld have been a 93 and when you play manager mode he can develop into a 95

The author is forgetting something really important… CR and Messi’s overall stats don’t mean anything when comparing CR as a CAM and Messi as a ST. The overall stats shown are representative of how well the player performs in the position they’re put in. CAM’s have different requirements from ST’s!
In order to compare CR and Messi’s stats fairly, you must compare their sprint speed, acceleration, shot power, finishing, balance, etc., etc.

In FIFA 11, when you put Ronaldo in ST he goes from 88 to 90 so maybe when you put him in ST this year he’ll go into the mid 90s

just like what u said… ronaldo is an individual, he should have higher rating for dribbling, balance and all those ‘individual’ stuff… and messi should have higher rating on passing/ crossing. I cant understand why, messi is getting faster and faster in acceleration and speed. And his Balance is much higher than Ronaldo…. This is nonsence!!

Messi and Ronaldo should have an equal rating. At least to prevent controversies like this from happening. But if anything Ronaldo should have a higher rating. Ronaldo can do anything Messi can do, faster even. Ronaldo is better because of the position he scores at. Ronaldo is a CAM. Messi is an ST. In all actuality, Messing should have more goals than Ronaldo. But it takes more skill to score from Ronaldos position. Harder too. And Messi didn’t do shit in the world cup. So he can’t play without Xavi or Iniesta. Ronaldo didn’t do alot either but more than Messi. I love em both, but Ronaldo clearly has the edge. Messi can’t shoot a free kick like Ronaldo with his curve and all. Ronaldo is wayyyy faster than Messi. Ronaldos footwork is on another level. His passing is spectacular too.

Why are you guys complaining over Cristiano Ronaldo’s balance? It’s quiet obvious that Messi has a better balance than him as Messi tends to stays on his feet 99% of the times he get tackled. In the other hand, Cristiano goes down. If Messi hadnt has an unreal balance, he wouldnt be the player that he is. Messi’s balance should be in the 90s and so is his strength. Way to go FIFA, you just forfeited any edge you held in realism over PES by making Messi a higher rating than Ronaldo. I strongly suggest you update the ratings asap before FIFA 12′s release. You are more then welcome to keep Messi at 95, but that means raising CR’s rating up to no less than 97! I thought i was playing a soccer simulation not arcade, Ronaldo should have the higher rating no questions or arguments about that, and if you wana keep Messi at a 95 and call it anything but fiction i hope you at least transfer his rating no higher than a 73 for Argentina… just to keep it close to reality as possible. Looks like PES 2012 is gonna be the soccer game to buy this year…which means we are all gong to suffer big time! But hey im sure Ronaldo will be rated higher then Messi on there so ill stick to the more realistic game, anything else might as well play FIFA Street!

They can’t be serious Ronaldo would win in a straight sprint, he can shoot better, head better, cross better, do free kicks better, use weak foot better etc. Messi should have 1 star skill moves and 1 star weak foot. I’ve never seen him score outside of 18 yards except once, and it was 20 yards against fc copenhagen. His close ball control and acceleration should be 99 and everything else average, i guess his close shots, shot accuracy, and vision would be above average but individually Ronaldo is so much better, im not buying the game because of this.

Messi has more agility, balance and speed then ronaldo, ronaldo always does step overs – ends up falling, then gets back up carrying on doing it again. Messi could slip through the defence like butter on hot toast. Ronaldo couldn’t he’ll probably shoot first.
