Sony has just released a new firmware update for the PlayStation 3 where it looks like to be a minor update.
“A new PS3 system software update, v3.72, will be released soon. With this minor update, system stability during use of PS3 format software and network services has been improved.” Eric Lempel, VP, Sony Network Entertainment in a statement for the official US PlayStation blog about the update.
Despite the firmware update, it doesn’t stop PS3 jailbreakers to boast downgrading ability on the system where E3 flasher has demonstrates how to downgrade from the latest version which is 3.72 to the older ones which has been exploited 3.55 with the dongle.
It also features dual-boot firmware where users can boot both 3.55 firmware and 3.72 at any time they wish.
The downside from all the whistles and bells though is the fact that it probably need to do some soldering in the process.
