A job listing made by the prominent Japanese publisher, suggesting that the much delayed Final Fantasy Versus XIII will no longer be an exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation 3 console.
While they didn’t say anything official about the title heading to Microsoft’s platform, we can say that it is an indefinite decision. The reason? Well, let’s say a pile stock of cash.
Porting the title to Xbox 360 is always a good decision for Square Enix and their future, in terms of making money out of their Microsoft fans.
They can’t go wrong with 55 million units sold worldwide and add that with a total number of PS3 owners, they can see a really huge market for their upcoming title.
According to a sales data from VGChartz, it has been reported that the Xbox 360 version of the blockbuster release of Final Fantasy XIII sold more than 1.82 million copies.
It’s really a decent number considering the fact that the title has saw a critical reaction from various gaming sources that some has said that the title is one of the worst in the highly popular series.
With the general outlook of Final Fantasy Versus XIII it may turn out very differently as the director himself, Tetsuya Nomura has said that it is a “Final Fantasy like you’ve never seen before.”
If we stick to that in mind, Square Enix will be pleased with their decision to execute Versus for the Xbox 360 community.
