The unveiling of Apple’s iPhone 4S event missed some important bit of information that Tim Cook probably did not have the guts to reveal — the next edition of iPhone to sport only 512MB of RAM!
Yes, you read it right. The amount of RAM being poured into iPhone 4S is just 512MB, and this according to a report from Chair Entertainment’s creative director Donald Mustard, who worked on the upcoming Infinity Blade 2.
In an interview with Eurogamer, he said; “I’m still shocked that, with the iPhone 4S, I’m literally running around with a 1080p video camera in my pocket, with an eight megapixel camera, 64GB of hard drive space and an A5 chip with 512MB of memory. This is a really powerful computer, right?”
If what Donald has been suggesting is true, we are indeed looking at the same size of RAM of iPhone 4 and iPad 2, with 1GB being the standard for current generation of smartphones, it is quite strange that Apple is still going for an outdated amount of RAM.
In the meantime, the Infinity Blade 2 game is said to be optimized for iPhone 4S after making it’s appearance during the Apple iPhone 4S Presentation Keynote. It will be released in December this year.
