We are only few days away from the public release of iOS 5 and with Siri being showcased at the Apple event, will it sneak into other Apple’s devices as well?
The Cupertino based company themselves has confirmed that Siri is an iPhone 4S exclusive, but they could always change their mind about it.
Siri, an intelligent virtual personal assistant, is being marketed as the iPhone 4S’s valued feature. Here’s what the founder of Siri had to say about his creation:
When we first built Siri, we use Vlingo for speech recognition and as such, at the time of purchase the speech recognition component is modular. Theoretically, if a better speech recognition comes along (or Apple buys one), they could likely replace Nuance without too much trouble.
Perhaps, the best way to describe the feature itself is to watch it in action:
IOS 5 will be available for download officially to all supported Apple devices on October 12.
