The numbers are out, and it seems Activision has been churning a lot of money out of their new Call of Duty title after Modern Warfare 3 sold more than 6.5 million copies in the US and UK within its first 24 hours of availability.
We’re going to make that even more clearer for you. Within 24 hours of it’s release, there are more than 6.5 million units has been purchased. In just 24 hours and you’ll compare that with Battlefield 3, who, according to EA estimates, just put in 5 million copies in a week.
Uncharted 3 meanwhile, sold nearly 4 million of units in day one, an impressive figure for Naughty Dog’s latest.
While for Skyrim, there are no numbers out yet but according to initial estimates, it could be more than 2 million copies. We don’t believe that it would surpassing MW3′s figures anytime soon though.
Despite MW3 smashing the sales record, it has been known that the game are full of glitches. One such example can be seen here:

MW3 will no doubt sell well, but it and Skyrim are not in the same arena. Plenty of people in my town were at both midnight releases and find both games fill different parts of their gaming lives.
