With a game as massive as Skyrim, saving is a crucial and essential part, for any game really and this is the reason people are having problems on the PS3 version of Skyrim and is leading some to call it ‘broken’.
Many players have claimed issues such as lag and stability to surface after the save file reaches 5mb. PurpleHaze said on the game’s official forums – “After my gamesave reached 5.3mb the game started to lag and go really unstable. Such as framerate issues, poor rendering, shoddy loading and non interactions fro finishing quests/cutting wood etc”.
He also mentioned he could not finish any quests or buy anything from traders. He is not alone, other players have also experienced similar issues.
Forumer Wildface said, “The more I played, the more lag I started to notice”. Lets hope Bethesda will rectify this issue as quickly as possible.

I too have faced this problem, not the quest problems but the really bad framerate.
I have reached 7MB and its not good at all.
Companies should NOT be allowed to sell broken products.
