Before Battlefield 3 was launched, EA promised that with it gamers will be able to get a free copy of Battlefield 1943. They broke their promise and upset a lot of people hoping to get that free copy.
Firm Edelson McGuire filed a class action lawsuit against EA on behalf of PS3 owners.
EA could have avoided all this if it handled the situation more profesionally. Firstly the news was released extremely late and when they did announce it, they only used Twitter thus many customers did not see it.
The suit alleges that EA “misled and profited from thousands of their customers by making a promise that they could not, and never intended, to keep”.
The lawyers said that all those involved are just after the free copy of Battlefield 1943 like they were promised.

Not only did they announce it late, they announced it so late it was in response to someone asking why it wasn’t on their disk!
