GSC Game World, the Kiev, Ukraine based developer responsible for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is reportedly closing its doors with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2′s fate still uncertain.
Ukraine’s UkraNews reported this morning that Sergei Grigorovich, founder and CEO will be closing the studio due to personal reasons. It is suggested that it was because lack of solid progress on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2′s or authorities wanting to obtain the studios and its profits for themselves.
Rock,Paper,Shotgun has reported about a tweet by GSC Game World that denies the studio’s closure but has since been removed. RPS tried reaching out to the developer but was replied with ‘no comment’ answers.
A new tweet has appeared on the company’s Official Twitter saying, “An official statement will be made on Monday.” Guess we have to wait till Monday.
