“Gang Wars”. That was the game mode revealed by developer Rockstar that will be in the multiplayer component of Max Payne 3.
The mode will progress dynamically with each round depending on what happened in the previous round. For instance, a player that was the top scoring player from the last round might get a bounty on his/her head and his team needs to protect him in the next round.
Rockstar wanted to introduce a sort of narrative to the multiplayer component rather than just making it a mindless killing affair with players rushing to be the top scorer.
The multiplayer experience has an added item called Bursts, these are special abilities or perks that you unlock with more experience you collect. One of them is Paranoia, where the opposing team will see their teammates as enemies.
Bullet Time will also be available in multiplayer, with the player that is in the line of sight of the player that uses it will be slowed down.
Seems like its multiplayer might win over some non-fans of the series if it is as good as it sounds.
