Handhelds are getting more and more powerful, we are now able to play glassless 3D and bring our home console out with us, but all this comes with a price, battery life.
For me, battery life is not such a big deal as I don’t bring my handhelds outside, when I go out; I actually have stuff to do.
The above video shows a Japanese gamer comparing the PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS and a PSP 3000. The 3DS was the first to go at two-and-a-half hours (with 3D on the whole way), the PS Vita clocked in at about four hours and the PSP went all the way to nine hours.

This is not that accurate of a comparison because the vita is displaying much more dynamic content than the 3DS and PSP were displaying. The only fair way to do this would be to loop the same video on all three systems. My prediction would be that the 3DS lasts 3 hours, the Vita lasts 5.5 hours and the PSP lasts 7 hours. Its also important to note that the PSP has various applications processors to handle different things as they didn’t have great SOCs when the PSP was released. Another important point to mention is that the PSP in the video might have the extended life battery in it.
