Rockstar’s co-founder, Dan Houser recently said to GameInformer that Grand Theft Auto V will have a very big map.
“I’ve got to be real careful here, or they will drag me through the office and whip me with barbwire. I will stick to exactly what’s in the press release. It’s Los Santos and the surrounding countryside – and a very big map.” he said.
Only question now is, how big will it be?

I heard lots and lots of rumors about how large the GTA5 will be. But I found one that got me the most attention. It was on a video that he was predicting of how large will the map be on GTA5. And whats special about this video is that before he was gonna tell us how large the map will be he showed us proof all by a trail of GTA5. And after I watched that video, I realized that his prediction is greater than any others prediction. Picture GTA4 map in your mind. Now try to picture 5 to 7 maps of GTA4 mushed together. So the question is, how big is the GTA5 map going to be? Answer is…. It’s going to be about 7 times bigger than GTA4. It’s gonna be HUGE!!!! I promise you, that is the closest answer you’ll probably ever get.

I read your comment twice and was unable to decipher what you were trying to say. Who was predicting GTA 5? And what authority do they have to speculate? Please clarify.
@all,
I think Dan Houser inadvertently admitted the inclusion of San Andreas. If GTA V is limited to “Los Santos and the surrounding coutrysides”, he would have just said it. It’ not like they’re gonna pull out 2 new cities out of their ass, complete with missions and dialogue by the time this game releases. Maybe San Fierro and Las Venturas have already been created. It makes sense that the Rockstar press release stated just “Los Santos…”. A full San Andreas with modern graphics right off the bat would be more than the XBOX 360 can handle. I think the rest of San Andreas will be included as downloadable content, or maybe GTA V will be episodic. Either way, I think Dan Houser’s hesitance in his remark is a sign of good news!
