Borderlands 2′s Assassin was recently broken down on IGN , the class is basically a ninja running around the battlefield and slicing into enemies from stealth for critical hit bonuses.
The Assassin can be tailored fit to your playstyle be it stealth or all out guns blazing. According to Gearbox, the assassin is the only class with a clearly defined weapons preference. He will be a good choice for those that wants to snipe from afar.
Like all characters, he has his own primary action skill; his will allow him to deploy a decoy and go into a temporary stealth mode.
He also has a backstory as revealed by art director Jeramy Cooke.
“The cool thing about Zer0 is you don’t really know where he’s from or what he’s all about just yet. He’s definitely a bit of a mystery and that’s on purpose,” Cooke explained.
He also said that his real name isn’t Zer0. “That’s what everyone calls him because every time he assassinates someone he displays a zero on his faceplate so he’s just known as Zer0.” added Cooke.
The most obvious thing about Zer0 is of course his sword but you won’t be able to swap out his sword like you do with guns; it is in fact his basic melee attack. You will however be able to increase his melee effectiveness as you level up.
There is a reason why the sword is not an equippable item and its called ‘digistruction’, “Digistruct is our term in the Borderlands universe for this ability of having like a digital blueprint that can then be built, you know, on demand,” explained creative director Paul Hellquist.
“That’s how our cars appear in the world and a lot of things in the game are constructed in this way…when you pull your guns out they digistructed out of their holster.” he further added.
You can read up on more information about Zer0 over at IGN.
