In the wake of the revolutionary unveiling of the iPad yesterday, one could argue that the device could really be a serious threat to the console business.
Apple revealed the iPad yesterday with some impressive technology being featured although they did point out the glorious HD gaming experience with Infinity Blade: Dungeons, there’s no response to Nintendo’s Wii U-like feature that they are having all along.
We have been discussing about the AirPlay Mirroring since last year and it seems Apple did not give further input on the tech so that more focus will be put on the console gaming side of the iPad where it can be developed similarly to the Wii U.
Check out the clip below to see how iPad can play games like Nintendo’s next-gen console:

So it works. for an iPad 3 price i’ll get 2,3 Wii Us instead and play games using buttons and triggers not just touch screen only. What about exclusives then? Oh, I must have forgotten! There are none! Not interested!!!

Oh, so the iPad 3 will be able to play Zelda HD and Mario games, and be able to use a balance board and Wiimote?

Even though this is interesting, the Wii U will never come close to being as expensive as an iPad3, and besides the fact that you will not only HAVE to get an Apple TV to do this synchronization, it will be very limited to Apple’s shitty casual games that only keep you entertained for 5 minutes. So, Apple TV $99+iPAD3 $499-$699(depending on storage size)=$598-$798 and that’s without taxes, casual games, apps that any android smartphone and googleTV can already do. Nintendo Wii U, no price known, but expected to be between $269.99 and $359.99, real first party games with actual innovation, third party games being enjoyed on multiplatform, online play, and also an app store to rival the current ones? I think I’ll choose the least expensive, innovative, and fun option.

Exactly, why do Apple fanboys try to compare the iPad and IPhones to console gaming. They are not consoles and never will be, consoles will always have superior gaming experiences. Touch screen only gaming is horible, I have a few games that use this on my smartphone and I never play them because the controls suck. The Wii U will be an amazing machine and games will be much more innovative.

Just remember one of the oldest patents for the Wii U controller is from 2008, before the iPad, meaning Nintendo’s been playing with the tablet controller idea since before Apple released their iPad. Thus Nintendo didn’t copy Apple whatsoever, so this null-in-voids this article by magic.
