Lionel Messi has done it yet again with classy finish to the Granada match today as he broke all-time scoring record for his club Barcelona after scoring a hat-trick.

Cesar Rodriguez who is the former holder of the scoring record collected his tally during a massively prolific 13-year period from 1942-1955, and his scoring book has never been touched by other players since then.

However, Messi’s hat-trick in Tuesday evening’s of heavily contested La Liga fixture against Granada saw the young Argentinian climb above the Spaniard in the standings, grabbing the feat in just over seven years on the Spanish top flight matches.

Nevertheless, there has been debate that the 24 year-old only at his best with Barcelona and this has raise concern over the striker’s “World Player of The Year” status.

It has led to suggestion that Cristiano Ronaldo is proving to be much better candidate as the best player in the world. The Real Madrid forward arguably surpassed Messi in terms of physique, technique and individual play.

Lionel Messi has been announced as the world’s best paid player recently following the publication of France Football’s rich list with the Catalan maestro netted €33m that includes salaries and endorsements.
