The statistics as for now (in the National Cancer Institute website) has shown that 1 in 3 people on average get cancer in some part of their life.
Though this disease has been around for quite some time, there is no exact cure, unlike our other diseases like measles and polio, where you can just take a jab to prevent it.
They always say, prevention is better than cure, so why not take these simple steps to stay away from cancer.
Eat more vegetables!

Yes, more leafy vegetables are good for you. Also, broccoli, cabbages or cauliflower also helps combat breast cancer, and has certain enzymes that can deactivate free radicals and carcinogens.
Add garlic to your food

It is already well known that garlic does prevent any kinds of cancer. How so? Well, it has sulfur compounds that further improve our immune system to defend cancer from coming. Another plus point is, it can reduce tumor growth!
Exercise

Not only for cancer, but a whole wide array of illness can be prevented by exercise. Keep yourself moving for at least 30 minutes a day, around 5 times a week.
The power of antioxidants

Vegetables out there like tomatoes, red peppers and carrots, contain lycopene and vitamin C, antioxidants that prevent various types of cancers. Antioxidants are also found in blueberries, raspberries that neutralize free radicals, the source of cancer.
Control intake of alcohol

A glass a day can benefit in terms of cancer prevention but more than a glass or two can lead to cancer instead, so be careful with the intake.
Do Not Smoke

Smoking is always linked to lung cancer, as the carcinogen from smoke contributes much to it. We all already know the facts, so, stay away from smoking
Some morning sunlight

Morning sunlight has Vitamin D which is good for the skin and helps minimize the risk of multiple cancers. But sunbathing for long periods can appear harmful with the UV ray exposure.
Cut down on meat

Meat, especially red meat has lots of fat, and fat contributes to cancer. So it is best to limit the portion of meat. Take more lean meat.
