Helping Your Overweight Child Lose Weight

With video games and television being a bit too popular of a way kids to spend their time, many wind up becoming a bit heavier than they should be. If you notice that your child is one who is tipping the scales on the heavier side, do something about it. Don’t make a big deal out of it. Be subtle about cutting anything in their diet. If you child drinks pop, cut back on the amount first. Then try taking your child skating. If you have ever considered getting a trampoline, this would be a great time. Anything to get your child more active. In fact, having an over weight child sometimes means the parent is over weight too. So everyone could play on the trampoline together.

If you do not have a dog. Get one if you can. Go on walks with your child and the dog together. All three of you will get your exercise in.

Depending on your child’s age and where you live, you can put some play equipment in the back yard. Pull up a lawn chair and hang out while your child just plays or join in with them depending on the play equipment.

Little by little cut back on any sweets your child is eating too much of and offer healthier alternatives.
