We are seeing that Melissa Gilbert is pretty good on the dance floor despite how nervous she has been. We’ve also learned that Melissa Gilbert is not as much of a goodie-goodie as her most well know character, Laura Ingalls, was. Although Laura Ingalls was a bit of a rebel, she was more of a wholesome rebel. Melissa on the other hand has gotten some expression permanently tattooed on her body – more than once. But she says her tattooes were not just for the heck of it. They all have “special meaning”. One is dedicated to her dad who passed away back in 1975. Another one she got just with in the last year. She says her family has gone through a lot including the divorce from her second husband of 16 years, Bruce Boxleitner.
But even with all that she and her family have been through this year, her sons were in the Dancing with the Stars audience cheering her on. Gilbert says she loves her tattooes and even has a few more on her body. At this point she doesn’t plan on getting anymore. But that doesn’t mean she won’t change her mind down the road.
