According to a report by VG247, Microsoft has detailed the Xbox 720 to some third-parties.
Microsoft has internally confirmed that the console will be up for a 2013 Christmas release date and will sport a Blu-ray disc drive, this is in contrast of some reports that said the console will support download only.
Multiple sources have confirmed that the Xbox 720 will be having two GPUs. The chips are thought to be of the equivalent to AMD’s 7000 series but “not CrossFire or SLI”. The chips will take turns to draw the same object and will be able to work independently, drawing separate objects simultaneously.
The CPU will have “four or six” with one allotted for Kinect while another will run the OS.
An anti-piracy measure will be implemented which requires the console to be always connected to the Internet. Next-generation Kinect will be built into the console as a standard.
These rumours might not be confirmed until next year as Microsoft has said they are not making any announcements pertaining to their next-gen plans this year.
