Rumour Mill – Microsoft wants ‘to further monetize Xbox Live’ this holiday season

It seems Microsoft wants to further take more money from their Xbox Live subscriber base and the move will be implemented this holiday. The LinkedIn profile of Praveen Rutnam, Microsoft’s group product planner stated that he has developed a “strategy to further monetize Xbox LIVE subscriber base that will be implemented for holiday 2012″.

While this could mean a lot of things, some speculate Microsoft will be removing or phasing out their Microsoft Points system; a move that have been rumoured since early this year. Let’s hope it’s nothing major that will affect players’ current Xbox Live experience.
